“Exploring the space between what is felt and what is seen.”
About the artist…
Madeleine is an interdisciplinary artist, from England, working across installation, drawing, text, and mixed media. Her practice explores the relationship between identity, perception, and materiality; investigating the tension between inner experience and outward representation. Through layering, fragmentation, repetition, and transparency, she examines identity as fluid and continually negotiated, creating works that occupy the space between what is felt internally and what is perceived externally.
Research and experimentation are central to her practice. Working with materials including tracing paper, acrylic, projection, light, and text, she develops installations that invite viewers to navigate shifting layers of meaning. Language, gesture, and the body frequently appear as recurring motifs, functioning as sites through which emotions, memory, and vulnerability are expressed while remaining partially obscured.
Alongside her independent practice, Madeleine undertakes a range of commissioned creative projects and theme-led open-call exhibitions.
